The Aldermanry of Culture of Quiliano Council, together with Bruno Cassaglia and Renato Cerisola, the artistic advisers of SACS (Experimental Contemporary Art Space), is organizing a mail art and digital art project called FUTURENERGIE, regarding the ecological compatibility and sustainability.

The theme regards the renewable sources of energy and their fallout on Mankind’s health and behaviour. It can be expressed freely, in accordance with the following ‘key-concepts’:

- The need of promoting a new attitude, based on the non- exploitation both of Mankind and of the natural resources;

- From a technological and environmental point of view: the promotion of new forms of renewable energy, energy saving, care of the resources of our Planet and of the environmental pollution reduction.

- The enhancement of the Youth’s potential –our real energy for our future- for their commitment with the ecological and environmental issues.

Thus, the work of art is enriched with a very strong social, cultural and educational value.

· By sending Your work of art via e-mail to info@sacsarte.net . Please note that the digital works ( jpg between i 300kb and 800kb) will be part of a video shown during the exhibition and will be also published on the SACS website www.sacsarte.net

You are free to take part to both the traditional Mail Art Project and the Digital Art one.

The event will take place on September 2008 at Villa Maria exhibition Palace in Quiliano.

All Your works will not be sent back, but they will be part of Quiliano Council artistic heritage.

The subsrciption form annexed to this invitation letter is to be sent together with Your work of Art.

Big thanks to all contributors so far to the CAMERAderie gallery. The 31 albums now house a total of 274 pictures, and we've had numerous comments about how enjoyable and useful this resource is becoming. The complete gallery is frequently updated and is zipped, ready for downloading. The slideshows don't show any signs of creaking under the strain, so please keep the photos coming.

An extra vote of thanks must go to all the mailartists who have helped to spread the word about this project, either by distributing the printed invitations or via the internet. A special grazie to those who have sent pictures of visiting mailartists, and to those who have sent fascinating archive pictures of mailartists who are no longer with us. CAMERAderie is an ongoing project, so please send us any more discoveries of past and present Mail Art Stars.

Hope you've had a great summer. We didn't manage to get away except for some day trippery - we went to the Design Museum in London and saw a nice exhibition by Jonathan Barnbrook, the paramilitary wing of font design. Also went to Liverpool Tate to see the Peter Blake retrospective, the darkly tonal Pop painter and Sgt Pepper album sleeve designer. Not having a proper holiday this summer is giving us itchy feet to see San Francisco next year.

At the age of 55 I finally left school… well, near enough, I've now taken Voluntary Early Retirement from the mainstream madness of high school, and am looking forward to a nice 1 1/2 days of Art teaching at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital School - small classes, Teaching Assistants in each lesson, delicate souls like myself. For the last five weeks I've not really been sure whether I'm on holiday, retired, semi-retired or changing careers to become Leanda Ryan Graphic Design's new intern. I've been setting up and tidying up ready for some non-specific monumental changes!

Whatever happens, I hope you're having a creative 2007,

and see you in the mailwaves or the electrolines!
